One of the kids confidently preached during the expo |
By Ekpor Temple
On Sunday,
April 30, 2023, at Rumoukwuta, Port Harcourt in Rivers State, more than 150
kids attended the inaugural Preaching Expo co-organized by the Communication and Children Ministries of the Port Harcourt Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Parents,
friends, and Children Ministries coordinators from all over the conference came
down to witness the spectacle as part of the program designed to
identify young children for the award of the best "young Preacher, as well
as to nurture their passion for the gospel message and empower them to be
Christ's disciples.
The children's ministries director, Mrs. Patience Emudianughe, spoke before the event started and urged the kids to be brave and self-assured as they took turns giving their presentations.
"The children are the church's future leaders, therefore I want to encourage you all to be courageous and not to hold back or be afraid. Go out and put all that you have practiced into action. She spoke.
Some of the parents who spoke with A-media PHC expressed their joy and thanked the organizers for bringing up such an initiative that has spiritually engaged their wards at home.
Seasoned Communicators and members of the award committee; Elder Good Hope Hezekiah (Chairman), Dr. Mrs. Chigeamezi Emejuru (Nee Lazarus), Miss Mary Akpan, and Ekpor Temple (Director of Communication and Media PHC) were the panelists on the day.
The
exercise was for children aged six to twelve years old. And ten of the
participants were shortlisted for the final round to be held on Saturday 6 May
2023.
I want to sincerely commend the Port Harcourt conference for this epic engagement with the young ones.
ReplyDeleteDiscovering talents especially within same faith is key for spiritual growth of any religion organisation. I look forward to the next stage of the competition with all eyes on Port Harcourt District as the potential and overall winner.
