The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigerian Association of Adventist Lawyers (NAAL) stormed the courthouse today at the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt with tracts and copies of the book Great Controversy for widespread dissemination. The exercise in partnership with Mrs. Blessing Hekerem who donated the books, began with the distribution of tracts to attorneys inside the courthouse, followed by a visit to the judges' chambers, where copies of the book were given to them. Two thousand (2000) Adventist Tracts were distributed along with a total of 100 copies of The Great Controversy.

According to the Chairman of the Association, Eld. Barr. Sunny Igwe, “the exercise is primarily intended to reach out to the Judiciary with the Advent Message and to provide a platform for raising knowledge of the Association and the Church to the entire Judiciary”. He further expressed his gratitude to God for the energizing and fulfilling exercise, adding that the Association would participate in more of these exercise as the ground is so fertile.

Other members of the Association who participated in the exercise were excited for being part of the event. Reacting to this religious exercise, the recipients were pleased to receive the books and tracts and expressed gratitude to the Church and Association for their hard effort.

In a chat with A-media PHC, the correspondent reported that the exercise will continue with the Magistracy as names of Magistrates have been written on the books to be distributed to them and other sectional heads of court.  A courtesy visit to the Honourable Chief Judge of the State is anticipated as the Association has written to both the CJ and the President of the Customary Court of Appeal Rivers State.

Recall that on March 28, 2023, the Association paid the President of the Port Harcourt Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church a courtesy visit. During that visit, a number of issues were discussed, as well as how the Association could assist the Church.  Despite the fact that we are still spreading the Advent Message, we are optimistic that this influence will bear fruit and bring honor to God Almighty.
