RISE FROM YOUR SLUMBER- WAD PRESIDENT URGES LEADERS

Pastor Prof. Robert Osei-Bonsu
WAD President)

By Ekpor Temple

Have you ever wonder why God calls us his chosen generation? Are you a church leader? Have it in mind today that your congregation has entrusted you to lead them in the direction of God.

This was the thrust of the devotional presented by the President of the West-Central Africa Division of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor, Prof. Robert Osei-Bonsu where He has tasked leaders and members of the Seventh-day Adventist church in the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference, (ENUC) to see themselves a true and formidable force in the mission goal entrusted to them by God.

The clergy at the ENUC Executive committee year-end session ongoing at the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference head -quarters in Aba focused his ministration on Genesis 49: 19 which contained Jacob dying prophetic remarks.

Pastor Bonsu, who doubles as the Chancellor, Babcock University, Illishan Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria and Valley View University, Oyibi, Accra Ghana unraveled that we have some many learned Degree holders in WAD, yet report shows that we have the lowest records in evangelical output. He therefore charged leaders and members to strive towards mission success.

He reminded the congregant that the church in this quinquennium is mission focused, with keen vision to penetrate the un-entered areas within our cities.

“We should be happy that our presence is been felt this days and we need to strategize to reach the unreached- that is our focus. Wherever you find you self you do your best to excel. Be a minister in the space you find yourself in the church.

“We need combat mentality, we need to rise beyond mediocrity. Some of us are interested in minimum achievement. We should stop doing things to please human being. Our focus should rather be on Christ Jesus.

Understanding that the church is God’s remnant people in this region of the country. He urge the leaders to take over all lost ground; work in determination to fulfil the blessings of God and strongly claim the blessings of God by encouraging members to go back to their various field and start sowing evangelical seeds that will be reaped abundantly in 2023.

Some are blessed, but we need to be challenged. We’re in Christ but not soaked with him. We undervalue the gift Jesus has given us. Let us rise from our slumber and hold the mantle of winning souls for God in this country.

“God has placed you on the Eastern side to do exploit for him, though the enemies will attack but God’s church will continue to move victoriously. However, it is unfortunate that sometimes we are not proud of who we are, what God can use us to accomplish, and what God has done for us in the past. He said.

The highly educated and extensively experienced Leader with mission reputation climaxed by appreciated the ENUC leadership for facilitating the second coming of Christ through evangelical zeal, infrastructural strides and soul-lifting programme etc.

He further promise massive partnership with the union in her centennial celebration basking on a strong confidence that the union will surpass the 30, 000 souls WAD Quota; hoping that we can reach one million when we ask God to rekindle our spirit of mission.
