AFTER 13 YEARS, RUMUOKANIA CHURCH BEARS A NEW STATUS

Seventh-
day Adventist church Rumuokania on Saturday 13 November 2021 became the 94 organized church in Port Harcourt.

It was truly a happy moment for members of Rumuokwuta District who graced the programme in their numbers to witness the formal organization of a church that began with 5 families after a district evangelism held at Rumuokania land from 19 October -November 2008 with the then District Pastor Onyiaobari Okochi as speaker and had 15 souls baptized.

The Port Harcourt Conference President, Pastor Dr. Anyalebechi Nnunukwe who took charge of the proceedings alongside his other Conference officers in his ministration on the day encouraged the members of the newly organized church to ‘fight the good fight of faith’.

Reciting one of Apostle Paul’s Epistle to Timothy in recorded in 2 timothy 4:7-8, he averred that thing happens to us to make us to reflect in our life and how far we have fared. Analyzing Paul’s experience in the verse, he literally pictured Soldiers in the battle field which culminated to the advice to members on warfare, faith and assurance of Salvation as key significance of the sermon as seen in the verse.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Like God did to the Israelites, The Clergy charged the congregation not to throw stones of harm on themselves, especially on social space.

“We should look at Jesus as we run this heavenly race on earth. Our focus should be in Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Stressing that keeping the faith proves us as good stewards".

While, he prayed that Paul’s experience will be our watch word, Nnunukwe emphasized carefully that stones, temptations and trials are part of life that members should brace up to face looking on the direction that leads to Jesus.

He further encouraged the church as highlighted in Revelation 3: 8 that the Lord will set before them open door of blessings, Salvation, grace and mercy and no man can shut it".

Other notable dignitaries present in the programme includes; Pastor Echendu Ekezie, (the Executive Secretary), Shep. Onyinyechi Faith Nwafor, (Treasurer), Pastor Onyiaobaari Okochi (Executive Secretary Rivers East Conference), Pastor Richard Woke (The Stewardship Director), Rumoukwuta District Shepard’s Pastor Emmanuel Nweke and Victor Kalabe as well as the Conference PARL and Communication Director Elder Beniah Ojum and Comr. Ekpor Temple etc.
