“Where are the balms for healing that my people are still suffering in apostasy?” The clergy lamented.
The Rumueiprikom District Shepherd, who gave vivid description of Gilead in his homily wondered why men are still tortured when they have a God that can benevolently stretch forth His balm in a single request.
‘The realization that God’s balm is relieving can restore all we have lost’. However, unforgiveness can hinder God’s Balm ineffective in a Christian’s life. “Forgiveness is not weakness; not a sign of cowardice but maturity and true Christianity”.
Going further, the clergy said, "there is not anyone without an ailment he/she is coping with, but the realization that God’s balm heals all infirmities, including restoring all that we have lost is the whole intent of this sermon."
In awe, the ecclesiastical preacher, drew the minds of the members to ponder why the country is enmeshed in anguish, penury, insecurity and leadership failure in spite of all the religious activities going on in Nigeria.
In concluding, he charged the church members to be eu-mannered in the ways they relate with one another; eschewing mediocrity, and striving towards excellence. "With God on our side, nothing is impossible" he said.
