President Anyalebechi Nnunukwe (President Port Harcourt Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Church) |
Friends, in our already scary world, year 2020, came in with a strange disease that scourged mankind across national boundaries, big and small, young and old, rich and poor, Christian and non –Christian alike.
The
Novel Covid-19 took lives in droves worldwide. World economy paralyzed for
months causing loss of hope for social survival. Religious activities shutdown
during the period, and some were done virtually; as the Government extremely regulated
church activities with its lockdown processes. The simplest preventive cure was
personal hygiene, for which the church has long stood and canvased.
Through
it all friends, we made it to another new year 2021. I thank you all for supporting
the leadership of the church during the heated period of 2020 and with your
prayers and supplications, God , undeniably proved himself faithful to his
children.
Finally, as scripted in Matthew 11: 28 “Come to Me,
all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke
upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will
find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
God is calling us to bring all
our burdens this year to him, do not be
afraid, rather have faith and summit yourself to his will.
Nobody is exempted from having problems in
their lives, but God is so righteous that he does not send a problem without a
solution so that we can overcome it, making us wiser people ( Philippians 4:19).
Be rest assured this year
that God has solutions to
all your difficulties. He will provide a gigantic cloud to shield you and your
family from the sun and give you manna for food. He even allowed water to flow
from the rocks so that your house hold won’t thirst.
If,
when you think about the year that is ending, you find that your faith has
grown, then you are on the right track. Do not stop doing good deeds and God
will bless you abundantly in this 2021.
