The Communication Summit, also referred as a 72-hours certificate training exercise commenced at noon yesterday (Friday, 24th January, 2020) at the Conference Headquarters with reverberated lectures; firstly, on "Effective Christian Leadership: The Driver of Organization" by Eld. Anthony Okoroma.
In his lecture, the astute communicator emphasized that effective leadership in every organization is key for wholesome achievement.
To buttress his point, Eld. Anthony cited various theoretical and empirical instances of how great leaders around us have, through their tactful and skillful leadership, transformed the society; the likes of Pastor Dave, Anyalebechi Nnunukwe to mention a few.
Meanwhile, Mr. Samuel Godbless, a renown Elocutionist, heightened the ambience as he practically thrilled the delegates on "Public Speaking: Phonics and Diction". This, of a truth, affected all the delegates present as it incorporated practical, amazing and amusing ways of pronunciation and speaking.
In the same vein, the host Director of Communication, Ekpor Temple, lit-up the stage with key information on the new Vision of the Communication Ministries.
Thereafter, the delegates dispatched into various syndicate groups to have a reflection of the ENUC GUIDELINES for the Department and the Church, and to highlight the implementation processes for our dear Conference.
The third lecture came in timely with topic; "Time Management: A Mechanism For Church Growth" by Eld. Sunny Igwe, who explicitly struck on the essence of time consciousness, especially as Seventh-day Adventists. He concluded by reminding every delegate that the only panacea to effective and lively worship which will in turn yield all round growth in our Local Churches is Effective Management of Time – Col.4:5.
As the day's session climaxed, the delegates were thrilled by a sound "Theme Exposition" by an erstwhile President of Port Harcourt Conference, Pastor Dave M. Nyekwere.
Finally, the Summit was formally declared opened by the Conference President ably Represented by the Chaplaincy Director, Pastor Goodhead Charles.
Then everyone shared "goodnight" & "goodnight "wishes to each other.
This is great beginning for our Dear Conference. As gather to brainstorm on how to be useful instruments in God's hands, I pray the Lord will empower you with wisdom and keep you in health.
