Saturday, April 27, 2024 - In a momentous gathering marked by humility and
reverence, Sir George C. Nwaeke, FCA, mni, Head of Service of Rivers State,
delivered a heartfelt and resonating address on behalf of His Excellency Sir
Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, at the Workers Thanksgiving Day
Worship held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt with the theme:

The event, which brought together dedicated workers from various sectors, labour Unions such as the Nigeria labour Congress, Local and State Government Representatives, media houses and invitees from the banking institutions and companies; celebrated the ethos of gratitude and service within the community.
Sir George, representing Governor Fubara, expressed profound appreciation for the steadfast commitment of the workers and emphasized the significance of thanksgiving as a spiritual practice. He firmly asserted his faith in the potency of gratitude and praise, urging every resident of Rivers State to incorporate worship and thanksgiving into their daily routines.
He commended the Christian community, notably the Seventh-day Adventist Church, for their longstanding practice of thanksgiving, promising to bolster the Church's initiatives throughout the state.
“I humbly wish to praise the Christian
community, particularly the Seventh-day Adventist Church, for their enduring
tradition of thanksgiving and pledged support to the Church's endeavors within
the state. The Worker's Thanksgiving Day Worship at the Seventh-day Adventist
Church stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of gratitude and service
that resonates within the hearts of the people of Rivers State.
The
Governor expressed his unwavering belief in the power of gratitude and praise,
calling upon all residents of Rivers State to integrate worship and
thanksgiving into their daily lives. He praised the Christian community,
particularly the Seventh-day Adventist Church, for their enduring tradition of
thanksgiving and pledged support to the Church's endeavors within the state.
Governor
Fubara expressed his profound belief in the transformative power of
thanksgiving and praise to God. He called upon all indigenes and residents of
Rivers State to embrace the art of worship and gratitude, urging them to make
it an integral part of their daily lives. Under the
theme of "Always Remembered," He urged attendees to reflect on the
biblical teachings of commitment and faith.
Drawing inspiration from Ellen G.
White, a revered figure within the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he emphasized
the importance of faith, service, and community in shaping a prosperous
society.
Acknowledging
the pivotal role of workers in driving the state's progress, Governor Fubara lauded
their dedication and spirit of collaboration. He reiterated strong
acknowledgment of workers as the backbone of society and emphasized the
importance of their contributions to the state's advancement.
“Workers serve as the very foundation
upon which its progress is built. We appreciate the dedication of the state's
workers, who, even in challenging economic times, remained loyal and dutiful in
their service to the people. He

The
Governor concluded his address by recognizing the fundamental truth that without
the efforts of the workers, the government cannot function effectively. He invoked
the principle of reaping bountifully during harvest, highlighting the
reciprocal relationship between the state government and its workers.
He
called upon all churches in Rivers State and beyond to embrace the culture of
thanksgiving, imparting the transformative power of gratitude to their
followers. He expressed gratitude to the workers for their tireless efforts and
invoked blessings of abundance and unity upon them.
