By Ekpor Temple
As part of the preparations for this year’s centenary celebration, the Hope Channel international team traveled from the United States to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, on Friday, July 21, 2023, via Lufthansa airline.
The
Eastern Nigeria Union Mission delegation, led by Elder Azukoye Prince Amadi
(Chairman Centenary celebration and Pentecost 2023 Coordinator), as well as the
host, Pastor Anyalebechi Nnunukwe Ph.D. (President of Port Harcourt
Conference), his officers, and Conference Directors, gladly welcomed Pastor
Chris Holland (Senior Evangelist HC) and Sharon Mcpherson, (Marketing Director
HC), upon their arrival.
The
team is in Nigeria to take in the country's sights, wrap up technical
preparations and to motivate the membership for the Hope Channel Satellite
evangelism, which is set to take place from October 20 to November 3rd.
Earlier,
the day prior, Pastor Uzoma Nwosi, the ENUC evangelist, and Elder Bakari
Ibrahim (the WAD Communication Director), as well as Nii Ayi Fitzgerald
Hammond, a representative of HC Ghana, had arrived in Port Harcourt.
The
team's itinerary for this visit includes a worship service at the Seventh-day
Adventist Church Mile 3, the proposed uplink center, visits to some
technologically advanced churches, and a tour of Port Harcourt. They will also
hold a media briefing and an interactive session with evangelism/communication
directors from the 16 ENUC field of the Eastern Nigeria union Conference, conduct HCI strategic/marketing
training for first elders, Personal Ministries leaders, communication secretaries, and church
members, among other things.
