All is set for the thirds edition of PHCCOMM week of emphasis. Today 12-15 October, 2022, many Districts and Churches will commence this year's edition of communication week of Emphasis in Port Harcourt Conference.
Our thinking this era has been how the Seventh-day Adventist church in Nigeria can have an impact upon our community and environments. This year’s week will emphasized on how we can build relationships with people who are outside the family of faith who in turn will give their lives to Christ.
Obviously,
there exist a cultural and spiritual gap between Adventist and the way we go
about our activities. However, we need to learn how we can establish common
ground between ourselves and those who have not yet discovered the abundant
life which is in Jesus Christ.
As it is a research tradition in recent time, the focus of this year's event will be on "Making friends for Jesus" and key areas such as five love languages, emotional intelligence and practical friendship has been eruditely analyzed and codified in a manual by our team of experts.
JESUS Method is key to, and conclusion of the whole matter in our drive to reaching the world wit the Word. For it was said of Him: And: he came to Nazareth,… and, as his custom was, he went int the synagogue on the Sabbath day … (Luke 4:16). He preached! It was also said of him as one went about doing good. Jesus was a Friend to many around him, loving them and offering forgiveness to the physically disabled and sin-sick souls, irrespective of tribal origin, or status. His theme was: Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” adding, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also (Matt. 3:17).
Some Church members and Delegates who spoke to A-MediaPHC, expressed their levels of preparation and hopes that God will oil their effort as the programme starts today.
Missionary effort of reaching out to the less privileged, indigents (mainly, non-Adventist aged widows), has also been reported by Etche Zone and other churches .
