A WEEKEND IN SEPTEMBER

By Ekpor Temple

It is infrequent to hear that there is scarcely any week that events are not held in our churches. However, some weekends are just extra-ordinary filled with history; such was seen in Port Harcourt conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church at the just concluded weekend of (16-18 September 2022).

The Youth Ministries Neckerchief challenge announced the 72nd anniversary celebration of the World Pathfinder Day— as churches in all districts and groups had amazing panaches of celebration, decorated investiture service and award ceremony commemorating the day.

Meanwhile, it has always been said that the biggest evangelism is to show love to humanity. Seventh-day Adventist church Mgbouba in Rumueipirikom District on Sunday 18 September, had a massive and impactful sanitation exercise much to the admiration and adulation of community dwellers and also recorded a historic shop for free programme where many non-Adventist friends and neigbours came, got clothes, food item and many luxuries all for free.

Similarly, Rumuokwuta District Adventurers organized a fruit festival and Pathfinders craft exhibition/sales day with massive art and psychomotor display form our kids. Those who grace the programme had fun-filled stories to tell.

Elsewhere, Nkpolu Rumuigbo Group children's ministries organized a holytide one day fasting and prayer program for all the children. This memory driven weekend climaxed with the exotic traditional marriage Ceremony of Pastor/Shep.  Amaechi, G.C. Heart.

As we continue to promote the course of the Kingdom using our Public relation tool, we pray that the blessings of the Lord continually abide with members and families. Amen.
