A cross section of top officers and the PHC President |
More than memorable at Omopo Elele, I am tempted to say, the
President of Port Harcourt Conference, Pastor Anyalebechi Nnunukwe (P.hd),
graced this year's edition of the Security Services Day as the guest preacher
in a locale that fathers Ikwerre zone, in the territorial setup of Seventh-day
Adventist in Port Harcourt Conference.
In a combine service Programme, Elele District invited top security outfit officers; the 343 Artillery, 5 Bn. Nigeria Army, Delta Force WK/SP, Elele Cantonment, the Divisional Police Officer, Elele Division, Fmr. Rtd. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Eld. Emmanuel W. Amadi, the men of the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and The Nigerian Correctional Service(NCoS), Ikwerre Local Government Command, etc.
The President in his admonition articulated that the essence of this year's Security Services day is to encourage security service units' men and women to live a holy life and solely depend on God in the line of duty.
“As part of the celebration this year, we desire to pray for our security out to serve the nation with the fear of God, righteousness and uprightness so that Gods special blessings will be showered on them”. He opined.
Quoting from Psalms 46:1-3, The clergy inoculated that beyond bravery, Skills and personal service achievement, recent events throw a warning on the need for our service men to set their heart on God, pray always and study the word of God.
“I pray that as you serve God this year, don’t forget that God expects you to set your hearts on Him at all time, study his word and always commune with God.
“Just Like David wrote in Psalms 91, exercise your faith, confidence in God, trust in His promises and speak in the faith and be rest assured that God is in the business of placing testimonies on your lips as you serve and depend on Him faithfully. He said.
Reacting to the kind gesture from the church, DSP Nworgwu Helga who represented the Elele Divisional Police Officer and Superintendent Nnadi Patience, the PRO Elele Medium Correctional Center Show gratitude to the church immensely for consistently appreciating the effort of service units in the LGA’s, State and country at large.
Likewise, Pastor Samuel Iroulor, the Leader of the church in Elele District, expressed that the success seen was as a result of the united effort from Ex-Military men and executive members of the District. He also appreciated the Conference for choosing to celebrate this year's Security Services day at Elele.
“Wow, we really want to thank the leadership of the Conference for selecting Elele as one of her centers, most especially the President who came as our guest preacher. Wwe have always longed for him and you can see the members are very happy today”. Iroulor announced.
Meanwhile, the different arms of the Adventist Youth Ministries in the District paraded and displayed their Colour Guards in commemoration of the Armed forces day.
The Conference Communication Director, Comrade Ekpor Temple, was part of the train that accompanied the President to Elele for the 2022 celebration.
The Security Services Day is a special commemorative service
of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nigeria to mark the Armed Forces
Remembrance Day. The aim is to express appreciation and celebrate the
patriotism and gallantry of service and ex-service men, and at the same time
bring them special messages of peace and hope.
