HABITS THAT DESTROY MARRIAGE, ARE THEIR VICTIMS IN OUR CHURCHES...

Pastor Emmanuel Nweke

God designed marriage to be a blessing to both man and woman. Adam’s response to seeing his wife, Eve says it all: _” This is now the bone of my bones and the flesh of my flesh” Gen 3:23_.

Research further corroborated that 95% couple goes into marriage expecting happiness and ready to be a source of joy and happiness to his/ her spouse. Many think that the way love is usually expressed, is strong enough foundation to hold marriages from peeling.

The Family Ministries Director, Pastor Emmanuel Nweke in his lecture presentation at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mgbouba, Rumueipirikom District maiden Couples retreat at Tiffany hotels and Towers Omagwa, Rivers State; readout that 45% of 1st marriages end in divorce, 62% of 2nd marriages end in divorce, 73% of 3rd marriages end in divorce.

He enumerated Infidelity, Incompatibility – lifestyle character and spirituality, Financial Problems, Strange Habits, Sexual Dissatisfaction, Poor Communication, Domestic Violence, Selfishness, Disrespect, Involving 3rd Parties in Marital Problems.

_“More than anything else, lack of knowledge is the reason most marriages fail, not lack of love. If love alone keeps marriages, why do we see marriages that started in a lovely way fail? Something very important must be missing and that is knowledge._ The clergy said.

Pastor Nweke identified prayer, forgiveness, effective communication, decision to Love unconditionally, building Intimacy and constantly Seeking Knowledge and Godly Counsel as effective tool kit that can repair our marriage when signs of problems begin to show.

And Just like You do not throw away your only car when it develops faults; you fix it and continue driving it.  He counsels registered couples to fix and enjoy their marriages.
