Adventist Students
Fellowship Ignatius Ajuru University of Education has reinforced the zeal to
win souls for God on campus. In their Quest to achieve the mandate of Pentecost
2023, held a special leadership Summit with the theme: “Empowered to lead”.
In a worship orientation held on June 6 2021, Erstwhile President of Port Harcourt zonal NAAS Mr. Urang Gogo Job in his sermon “What will you be remembered for” urged the Adventist students of the campus to be
dutiful and energetic in the things of God.
With personal
experiences acquired over his school days, the Andoni Born Soloist inspired the
fellowship with a description of his early child-hood and adolescent upbringing.
Finally, Gogo assured the congregation to help uplift the student fellowship in Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
Like Disciples of old, He charged the students never to give in
when faced with educational difficulties. Hence, the need to stay focused in
serving the Lord on campus.
“Without the
Holy Spirit leading convincing and converting your heart, you cannot truly
serve him. While you go about your studies on campus, know that God is
recording all your deeds.
“Don’t be the
one to talk down the fellowship. Gods business will not fold because of your
failure to play your part on campus. He said…
In the Main business
of the day, Esteemed Icons of the church were invited to teach and orientate
the newly elected Adventist students on how to carry out their constitutional
leadership responsibilities. Elder Sunny Igwe, in his disquisition hammered on key established facts about the Public
Campus Ministry and the tasks of key chapters officers.
Speaking to A-media PHC, after the orientation, The Chapter President, Comr. Peter Dimkpa Samuel shared their post-Covid experience and ordeal on the campus.
“Serving in this
capacity is such a previledge bestowed to me by the fellowship here in Ajuru.
Humanly it is not easy to combine the school activities and fellowship but Gods
abiding grace has been with us thus far.
“The School system is highly engaging and a
bit difficult for some of our students to cope. The welfare of our students is
also key, new intrant and some returning students find it very difficult to pay
up their fees.
“Worth
pointing out is the drop in our value system due to lack of capacity in
manpower resource. Hence, the reason we thought it wise to invite some of our
best hands whose experience in NAAS activities can Burst forth energetic zeal and
recharge the cells of the newly elected leaders to push towards the growth of
the chapter. He emphasized.
