THE THREE P’S OF WORSHIP: ANOTHER ECCLESIASTICAL COUNSEL FROM PASTOR BASSEY UDOH

Pastor Bassey Udoh

By Ekpor Temple

It has always been said and rightly too, that the worth of a gospel minister is seen in the impact his congregation derives from his sermon.

The President of the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference, Pastor Dr.  Bassey Effiong Okon Udoh on Saturday 22nd of May at The Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mile 3 in Port Harcourt, ministered to the large army of God’s people who came to grace the epoch ordination service of 6 of our clergy men in Port Harcourt conference.

Pastor Udoh who doubles as the Pro-Chancellor of Babcock University, the premier private university in Nigeria, espoused that the Three P’s of worship implies Place, the purpose and the power. No wonder David said “I was glad when they said to me; let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalms Psalm 122:1)

In his charge to the newly ordained ministers, he expressed that’s Pastors should allow God to use them as an instrument of gladness towards members. He further advanced that through their pastoral ministry, Members will savour the feeling of worshiping God wholeheartedly without double thoughts.

“How can we raise a church where our children will not be Glad to go, but will be sad and marred. We should build good foundation for the future. Can we (Pastors) be sensitive to make them love their church and for them to see it as place to be.

The preacher man stressed that the rigid ills in the church such as the recurring delays in our worship is not the character of lifestyle of the seventh-day Adventist church, but a function of orientation, mind-set, and problem of leadership.

“Check During the covid-19 time, two hours we are done, did we achieve something, Yes we did, was there anything omitted or lost, No…So it is a function of the orientation, and Problem of leadership.

“This service could have started since 8am, but we could still close by 12 noon, so it is a function of mentality. Considering the context and contend of our Message.

He therefore enjoins church leaders and member to thinker on ways to break the barriers militating against the progress of the church.

The pastor ordained into full pastoral ministry includes; (Pastors Chinweizu H.A Nwafor, Kingdom Nnanta, Ajoku Prince, Emmanuel Okere, Famous Woke and Chinedu Nwogu) expressed their heart felt gratitude for vowed to faithfully and sincerely uphold the mandate bestowed upon them.
