PENTECOST 2023: STOP BREAKING DOWN CHURCHES, PASTOR UDOH RETELLS

It was a day to remember with a sense of fulfillment and happiness when members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Mgbouba church, Rumuepirikom District in Port Harcourt Conference on Saturday 31, October dedicated the refurnished edifice of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Mgbouba in Rumuepirikom District.

Located in Salvation Avenue of Mgbouba /NTA road, it is hoped that the magnificent church building will one day serves as a district headquarters as the church growth increases in the conference.

Seen as an architectural masterpiece, the new church building has many facilities including Vestry, offices, stores, elevated platform and finished with latest interior decorations.

STOP BREAKING DOWN CHURCHES

In his message, Pastor (Dr.) Bassey Udoh called on the congregation to be forward-looking in their service to God, adding that it is better to break out and form new branches of the church rather than break existing building just to accommodate more worshippers.

“The goal of the church is for the salvation of man. The church should be  a place where many will find refuge.

“We should be encourage to break out and organize more branch Sabbath schools. I get dismayed when I see some churches disturbing members for fund all in the name of breaking and restructuring the building so it can accommodate more members.

Summing up the worship with the title “the modern city of Refuge”, the clergy opined that the church should be  a place where many will find refuge. He counseled that members should make their presence a source of encouragement to friends who visit at intervals.

“The church in Port Harcourt Conference should be a point of happiness, joy and a sense of friendship to the edification of someone.

“Lets us strive to make our self a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable before God.

Fielding questions from A-Media PHC, Pastor Anyalebechi Nnunukwe, President of Port Harcourt Conference, urged worshippers to be exemplary in conduct and character, striving always for excellence and showing integrity in the conduct of their business and always be ready to assist the needy at any given time.

Praised the effort of the church for their giant strides. He stated that the commitment and spirited unity seen in Mgbouba church is one that is worth emulating from.

“There is a tremendous improvement in mgbouba church is very brilliant, it’s what you see in world class facilities. I thank the church leadership for this facility and we are proud of this achievement.” the Cleric pinpointed.

Awards and Recognition

The church as a way of appreciating those, whose efforts are ineffaceable, awarded and recognized, for their selfless service; Pastors, Elders, including the pioneer members who contributed significantly to the growth of the branch.

The dedication service was attended by the top leadership of the church in the Eastern Nigeria union Conference (ENUC) and dignitaries from all walks of life with the choir who sang delightfully to God.
