THE HARVEST IS PLENTEOUS: PASTOR UDOH ASSEVERATES


The President of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Eastern Nigeria Union Conference (ENUC) Pastor Bassey Udoh has charged the newly elected Executive members of Port Harcourt Conference to be dutiful, resourceful and thinker on new-fangled blue-prints that will help the mission work in Port Harcourt Conference.

The Pro-Chancellor of Babcock University (The Premier Private University)  in Nigeria said this in his opening speech at the maiden Executive meeting of the new Port Harcourt Conference Administration Consecrated for service on the 14th of September at the 2nd quadrennial Constituency session held in Rumoukwuta.



The Clergy who referenced the book of Matthew 9:36-38 asseverated that the Mission work in coeval time needs men and women who not only are ardent, fervor and passionate about their belief but understand the technicality and dynamics of current societal trends.

“A time has come when the Church needs to open up. The Harvest is Plentiful but the workers are few. God is looking for Ministers who understand the dynamics of our time. The Clergy opined.

Furthermore, The ENUC President avows that the church in Nigeria should research on new soul wining methodology and that the example of Rwanda and Tanzania impactful evangelism should even challenge Seventh-day Adventist members in Nigeria to do the needful in evangelism.

The experience clergyman who doubles as ecclesiastical bureaucrat  also stressed on the friendship approach Jesus used in the scriptures to win derided personalities like Zaccheaus (Tax Collector) and the Samaritan women.

“The church is encouraging more community service and healthy friendship in other to win souls lavishing out there in our immediate society.

“The opportunities are there, money has not been the problem, our problem is lack of genuine and result yielding strategies.

“There are opportunities in Port Harcourt he heralds. The harvest is plenteous, therefore the need to start thinking of strategies and ways to implement them. We need to look out for better modules in other to break new ground. That’s why we have been called”

The preacher man also extent the encouragement to field pastors-
“The church is a voluntary organization; therefore pastors should be persuasive in their approach when dealing with church members”.

He coronated his inspiring and heart melting orations by charging the Executives to make massive difference in their time and harmonize resource that will help the church to achieve its mission goals in the next four years.

Thereafter, he performed the consecration ceremonies and consequently other business outlined for the days meeting were deliberated upon.
