ADVENTIST WORKERS IN PORT HARCOURT EAST ENJOYS FREE MEDICAL SERVICE




On Tuesday, May 28, 2024 – The Health Ministries of Port Harcourt East Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church hosted a free medical service worth Two Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Four Thousand Naira N2,354,000. only.



The event aimed at promoting health awareness and well-being among the church's non-ministerial staff, ministers, and shepherdesses and their families.



Christened "Worker Know Thyself" the medical check-up program, was a resounding success, with a 13-member medical team providing a range of essential health services to 46 attendees. Over 156 man-hours were dedicated to ensuring comprehensive care for all participants.



Attendees benefited from the following services:
• Eye Care: Free eye pressure checks, visual acuity and refraction tests, and the distribution of eyeglasses and eyedrops.
• Laboratory Tests: Free screenings for blood sugar levels and malaria.
• Consultation and Counseling: Personalized health consultations and advice.
• Dental Care: Scaling and polishing services.


This medical initiative not only provided significant health benefits but also highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups and preventive care. The comprehensive services offered during the event underscored the church's commitment to the well-being of its members.



The Health Ministries Department Director, Dr. Akoko Sokiprim expressed their hopes for all participants to live healthier lives following the initiative.



He also reaffirmed the department's commitment to fostering a health-conscious community within the Adventist circle.



Our hope is to ensure that amidst the busy stressful schedules of our ministers and conference workers, we do our best to provide avenues where workers can have medical routines on quarterly basis".



The Director also extended his gratitude to the administration, Elder Tonye Erekosima, and the Love Ensemble Music Ministry Health team, whose contributions were vital to the event's success.
