By Ekpor Temple

Some Adventist students of Rivers State University (RSU) on Sunday, 27th November 2022 survived a shocking road accident along Elele-Ndele (East west Road). The Sixteen Adventist Students were returning to the university campus in a Bus from a wedding ceremony of their final-year member of the fellowship held at Omoku. Witnesses said.

At about 130km from Elele Alimini, the Bus, to avoid crashing into another that braked suddenly, swerved into the bush. Though there was no fatality, some sustain various decree of damages and seven of the student’s as at the time of filing this report lie critical awaiting surgical operation.

A-Media PHC spoke with the Port Harcourt zonal Public Campus Ministry President Prince Iyumame and he explained the situation of the injured students after the unfortunate incident.

As at 12am (early hours of today) we moved them from Jodan Specialist Hospital, Port-Harcourt where they were first admitted to Rivers State University Medical Centre.

“We thank God no life was lost though all sustained serious and critical injury that will suspend them from academic activities within a specific period of time. He drowsily asseverated.

The Nigeria Association of Adventist Students (NAAS) President, also listed the names of students owned to their critical condition have been transferred to Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMH), a government owned hospital in Port Harcourt were they are receiving intense medical treatment.

“Those in a critical condition are: Chibuike Nwokoch, Charity Isreal, Faithful Favour Nyekwere, Gift Amadi, Confidence Akpati, Juliet Odum, Clinton Ogbonna etc.

He further called on all humanitarians and well-meaning Adventists to extend their supports to these students and families at this critical time.

Please the fellowship needs your assistance in order to save our brothers and sisters and help them get the required surgeries.

Currently, the doctors have assessed their injuries and forwarded a bills which amounted to Four Hundred and seventy thousand Naira (#470,000) which we think their families and the fellowship alone cannot cater.

1. Amadi Charity (broken jaw bone) 250,000

2. Akpati Confidence 110,0000

3. Chibuike Nwokocha 110,000

The question begging for answer is, who will help clear this medical bills and save the lives of these injured Adventist student?

  1. Well done.
I think subsequently, the article should be proofread before publishing to avoid having too many grammatical errors as seen above so the message is passed rightly.
