EKPOR TEMPLE

There is high expectation around the sporting fratanity as SWAN RIVERS 2018 Award holds tonight 5:30:pm at LANDMARK Hotels in D-Line Port Harcourt.

Some of the  expectations arises in an attempt to answer tthe question "how well have  RIVERS SWAN  fare in recent times", the high trend of sporting activities especially in the year under review and the effort of high profile mebers to efficiently disseminate sporting stories to the Nigeria Populace.

It will interest you to know that this Award was originally scheduled last year, but faulty plans and logistic maladies scuttled its reality.

In a statement signed by the secretary of the organising committee, Chukwudi Ejimofor, he posited that various categories of awards will be dish out to well meaning individuals and corporate organisations that has contributed to the development and promotion of sports in the country.

Normally, in years past, a day like this should be a glorious day in the lives of many associate member who have been nominated in the various categories of the award; but such is not the atmosphere here in Rivers. What we see is rather intense suspicion and lethargy among these media personalities. To say that this year SWAN AWARD lacks a catchy feelings will be over stressing on the obvious, as there's no hype in various media stations, no busy body feelings, and coupled with the fact that presently, SWAN in RIVERS STATE is like a an Iroko Tree staggering hoping to find a balance, yet the wind won let it be.

For some of the new SWAN intrants, regardless of the sectionalism, political bustle and black mail etc, conspicous these days in the Association, they will be expecting to see a power packed ceremony. If the administration is the open type, many will be glued to see how transparent the outcome of the process will be when winners starts emerging from different categories of the award.

However, one thing is certain, we all need quality hands to make the Aassociation a suitable place for ideas to flourished, a united home for we the young minds and a safe millieu for new generation to come.
