Excel and Treasure
FM both tasted victory – with Excel FM enjoying a high win on Friday whereas the
NTA team were left with work to do in their next match if they must qualify for
the next stage of the tournament.
As usual, the
Excel Ballers fielded a youthful side who romped past Wave Fm, the weeping team
of group A 3-0, guaranteeing them top spot in Group A in a match some spectators
had expected even more goals from the Ballers considering their possessive tactical
play.
Midfield maestro Samuel
Sobere scored at the stroke of time with numerous failed attempt to unlock the
defensive doors of wave fm—as the ballers went in 1-0 at half-time.
In the second Half, The Wave FM team
defensively locked up their shop and opened no space for Excel Fm midfielders
to get on the ball and find forward passes. They held on their positions in a
high line and press the ball with the two forward players who missed some good
scoring chances in their counter attack.
However, Wave FM defensive play was later
broken which gave Excel FM beautiful scoring chances that was well converted by
Ovundah Prince and Emmanuel Kalu ending the match 3 nil in favour of Excel Ballers.
Speaking to our
media correspondent, the wave fm coach congratulated and praised the organized “Tititaka”
play from the Excel Ballers and also complained that some of his players did pulled
out from the match , no thanks to injuries which left him with no option but adopt to a defensive game hoping to achieve
more on counter attacks against their opponents.

Earlier in the
first game of the day, Treasure FM coach Austin had demanded a reaction from
his team after they lost to CoolWazobiaInfo in their previous encounter and the
defending Champions answered his call, narrowly escaping 3-2 in a thrilling
encounter against their stubborn Neighbours NTA.
As it stand now group
A is wide open with Excel fm toping the log with 6point in two matches and
treasure FM same with 6points in three Matches,
NTA and CoolwazobiaInfo 3 point a piece and lastly Wave FM deep at the
bottom of the group with no point in three matches.
A clear favourite
to qualify from the group to semi-final will be determined on Tuesday when Excel FM will play host to Treasure FM in
a Clash of the titans, and the Billonair’s CoolwazobiaInfo FM and NTA will
struggle to steal three point from each other.
