CREATED FOR A REASON: 11 DAYS TO GO- THE UNTOLD STORY OF A YOUTH CORPER, BOOK PRESENTATION/ LAUNCH

“Why did God create man”

King David (the Psalmist), a man after God's heart-- asked the same thing;

“When I consider your Heavens, the work of your finger—what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you cared for him?” (Psalm 8:3-4).

Many over the decades have strived to uncover the main reason why man was created. Theologians believe in the authority of the scripture as inspired by God and haggle that man was made in the image and likeness of God. While lots of scientists in their modern theory concerning the evolution of man purpose that humans and apes evolutes from an ape-like ancestor (Darwin’s theory) that lived on earth a few million years ago. The theory states that man, through a combination of environmental and genetic factors emerged as specie to produce the variety of ethnicities we see in the society today. However, the point here is on the essence of man.

Next to the angelic beings, the human family, formed in the image of God, is the noblest of his created works. God desires them to become all that He has made possible for them to be, and to do their very best with the powers He has given. Life is mysterious and sacred. It is the manifestation of God himself, the source of all life…We are here for a purpose. God has given us his plan for our life, and He desires us to reach the highest standard of development. (MH 397).

The Truth is, God never created man because he was in need of us (Acts 17:24-25) or lonely. After all, long before the creation in Genesis, God already had “company” with His Son and the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:26) . He also did not desire His ego by worship. God is totally secure in who He is- without us. God created man out of His great love (Jer. 31:3).  He desires us to fulfill His eternal plan, but suffice it to say that God, in His infinite wisdom, also chose to make us part of His eternal plan. It is impossible to get our heads around His great mystery but that is the truth about our being made in His image (Dawson McAllister).

God gave us the gift of wisdom, intelligence and the power of choice to change the clock to our will. Therefore it is a porky claim when some people blame others for their limited ability because God created us best and desires us to be great in all we do. No doubt we hail from different milieu, with different character strength. Some lived in good houses, eat good food, have all the money in the world to spend, and visit exotic places. While many out there in the same society, are not privileged to enjoy these luxuries.
