Grass Root is the most vibrant and vital sector in the RIVER STATE political environment. It serves as a catalyst for political formation, capital formation and primary economic activities. It is improper to discuss the hazy term of leadership’without a clear direction specific to grassroots development.
Grass root leadership is simple to define in this contemporary time; this is so because it is that leadership at the grassroot.
Not aghast to that scholars like Onyedira (2007) suggested that one of the key areas where political leadership is virtually needed is grass root. Political leadership in grass root enhances development.
Having noted that grass root development refers to the continuous process aimed at improving the quality of life of the people at the grass root, it is no gain saying that development in grass root should be a priority.
In a transformational leadership model, leaders are those who set directions and help themselves and others to do the right things to move forward. To do this, they create an inspiring vision, and then motivate and inspire others to reach their vision.
With the above clarification, it is clear to argue and even convince someone to believe that leadership is having leaders help others achieve their vision, set goals for the future that builds on the success of the past while protecting the common wealth, defending the culture and positive history and image.
Hence, we can therefore assert that the most vital sphere leadership is mostly needed is the ‘grassroot’.Even God understood this when he rightly postulated in ecclesiastics 3:1, that “there’s a time for everything under heaven” this goes to say that even God himself understood the relevance of having leaders whose desires and aspiration is driven in representation of popular views, opinions and interest.
In nascent democracies, the populace needs trustworthy and humble men who can air out and also stand for the views of those in the grass root they are representing. Political leaders stems from grass root because, grass root promote leadership potential. And I am glad to herald that this is that perfect time God has prepared for Barr. Ben Eke to take over the prestigious political leadership of AHOADA EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
Every political leader comes from grass root and Barr. BEN EKE is presently one grass root leader with overwhelming qualities of leadership, as such indubitably the best in the queue among those who can Mann such leadership position with over demanding higher responsibility.
In AHOADA EAST, with over 80% of the populace living in grass root areas, it is believed that development process of grass root areas should be made a priority and total attention be given at improving the quality of life of the people at the grass root.
SOME cannot argue more that, that AHOADA EAST generates huge political presence in the governance of Rivers state. Overtime, the question that lies in the lips of many of its local dwellers concerns basically on the kind of leader the Local Government needs who can help restore meaningful human and material edifice, bring security to those living around and also fast tract means that will help elevate the economic prosperity of the AHOADA EAST PEOPLE.
I found out that grass root in RIVERS STATE are in dire need of development. Over the years, the development of the grass root has been neglected by most of our Governors and local leaders, the same political leaders that were produced by grass root. The mobilization of the grass-root populace for effective participation in the development program is lacking, building of human capacity is absolutely not there, the state of self project provision of essential services by our grassroot leaders are handy and deficient.
WE ARE therefore exhilarated that our good Governor, His Excellency BARR. NYESOM WIKE has thought it wise and deemed it expedient to forestall back the lost glory of our local areas by supporting GRASSROOT LEADERS like BARR. BEN EKE to help urgently alleviate and bring a panacea to the problems bedeviling grass root development in AHOADA EAST.
Since the prospect of a strong and verily society is hinged on a good political leadership especially at the grass root, it is our solemn believe that The PDP aspirant in the forthcoming AHOADA EAST Local Government Election BARR. BEN EKE will help the future consolidation of developmental strategies with proper grassroot positioning and performance.
This will only be made possible if we rally around the PDP/Wike lead Government and boldly stand by our endorsement of BARR. BEN EKE as our LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN.
Hence, as we approach the Saturday 16th June, Chairmanship Election in River State. I call on the well meaning people of AHOADA EAST to come out with their PVC lets vote for BARR. BEN EKE for good governance.
